Dedicated Conference
Following on from a series of seven successful duplex conferences during the past twenty years, the 2010 Duplex Stainless Steel Conference will be held in Beaune, France, where the legendary inaugural Duplex Conference was held in 1991. The content will be solely dedicated to duplex stainless steels with a strong emphasis on new developments such as lean and hyper duplex stainless steels.
Presentations will be sourced on the comparison of properties between duplex and other alloys. The main topic will be cost saving and life-cycle aspects of nitrogen-containing duplex stainless steels in a variety of applications.
The Conference programme is being carefully compiled by an Executive Committee of industrial & research experts chaired by Jacques Charles, General Manager Global R&D of ArcelorMittal.
Mr Charles has been active in the Steering Committees of previous Duplex and Stainless Steel World Conferences. He chaired the Duplex Stainless Steels Conference in Beaune, France in 1991; co-chaired the Duplex Stainless Steels Conference in Maastricht, The Netherlands in 1997 and the Duplex Stainless Steels Conference in Grado, Italy in 2007. He has been responsible for numerous R&D projects and was Product Manager Stainless Steel and Clad Plates of Industeel, which provided him with a great deal of knowledge on the applications of duplex stainless steels. Recently, he has been heavily involved in the further development of stainless steel coils and sheet in Europe and Brazil.

All Conference delegates and Visitors will have free access to the Duplex 2010 Exhibition, which will run in parallel with the conference.
